Passionate about ancient history and lovers of art and particularly Cham sculptures, we wanted to explore the original setting of all the masterpieces which we have had the opportunity to admire on numerous occasions in various museums in the world.

As no such offer is readily available in the travel industry , my wife and I, we decided to put together ourselves a tailor-made cultural trip whose theme would be "Cham remains in Vietnam" .

As such, from December 28, 2004 to January 07, 2005, with the company of a pleasant driver, we crisscrossed the central part of Vietnam, in search of Cham sites of which had been highlighted in our readings.

The actual cultural trip took place with the outbound journey Ðàlạt - Huế, then the return journey Huế-Phan Thiết, with a few days of rest in between in the ancient capital of the Nguyên dynasty.

The requirements of various legs (no hotel booked in advance) as well as the opening hours of the sites, imposed on us to make a selection between the monuments to be visited on the outward journey and those saved for the return.

The journey and the visits hence were scheduled as follows: see page "Outward journey" and "Return journey".
